I. There's the way certain people ensnare you with their little nuances; how they win you over with the trivial, almost unnoticeable things about them yet you find it all endearing; like how their eyes crinkle when they smile, the lilt of their voice, their lopsided grins, the mischievous glint in their eyes when they look at you sideways, their realness, the way they keep nervously snapping their fingers when they're speaking onstage, the sound of their laughter, and so many other things...
And while you're too busy swimming in the details, they've gently pulled you in and you're bound.
Sometimes it's the little things that you miss.
II. You meet a guy. He looks perfect from all sides, thrives under the spotlight, under poor lighting and under the glory of the brightness of the sun. He moves his body like the storm a tiny part of you wants to be right smack in the middle of- soaking yourself in the rain with arms open wide, stepping into puddles and dancing on empty streets amidst the violence that threatens to rip roofs, houses, and streetlamps apart.
But he's not a storm. He's not even the ocean that you're looking for. No real beauty, no depth. What you've mistaken for something more, something special, something great, something that could have resembled a spark of a possibility- what you have here ladies and gentlemen... is a kiddie pool.
You've always had a tendency to fall in love with people you create in your own head.
III. A small circle has gathered by the light of one of the windows inside the classroom, on the platform, by the corridor, or under the acacia tree; the meeting place always changes but some things remain the same, like the brushing of fingers against the strings of an instrument I desperately want to learn to play, the gentle tugging of the wind on the locks of our hair, the rise and fall of our voices, and the warmth that comes from completely giving ourselves over to the moment.
There are two types of songs that are being played: the one whose lyrics you know by heart, and the one whose words you still stumble on from time to time. Before you know it, both become part of the soundtrack of this point of your life.

Seventeen and studying Psychology. I like books, coffee, lyricism, magic hour, (in)signifcant moments, free-verse poetry, mental disorders, female anatomy, pretty smiles, late night conversations, and the time it takes for two people to transcend the boundary between strangers and friends.
I keep sadness at bay by constantly falling in love with the little things in life. My name is Anna and this is where I try to write.
